The focus of airtel, indeed their focus in their global presence, has been primarily on voice and voice related services. They have been slow to react to data services, which is where the bulk of mobile money will be made in Africa. Airtel needs to strongly invest in Quality and reliablility of data services and provide competitive pricing structures and thence they will truly be in the game in East Africa.

Airtel has come a long way and i can commend them for their quality of service and reliability but i would like them to improve on their internet infrastructure and provide better speeds and quality especially on their modems and also improve on 3G network coverage since right now i dont know exactly which areas are covered.

I have been a kencell, celtel, zain and Airtel customer.
I think what ails them most is the curse of coming in second. The leadership and the board of this organization(s) needs to understand that they can play second fiddle to Safaricom and still be profitable.
The tariff wars will not leave any of them better of but at least it will increase the overall number of mobile phone owners in the country. How this will lead to development in the region is yet to be seen.

Early this year you Zain or is it Airtel went public promising to go 3G by April 2011. It is now the fourth week of April. No 3G, no word from you. Do you rely care about what you say? Is your CEO serious with his words? Too many similarities with Zain. Disappointing!!

......am not satisfied of the charging rates .......Airtel Charges a rate of 0.05 on every call made on but not declared.

you entered the market as an expensive product but managed to hook people,what i dont understand is why the company keeps changing hands and names.

I think it is more cutting edge and has shown other companies a worthy challenge.
